Bonding is Inevitable...

A close-up snap
Dogs are the most sensitive and affectionate animals of all. They are very adorable and this is no surprise that majority of people in the world have dogs as their pets. Your love for them is bound to grow day by day even if you are among those who do not like this idea of having a pet. Though human connect with one another at cognitive and behavioral level but bonding with a dog is purely on an emotional level, which is stronger than any other and you only get unconditional love in return from them.

Meet my lovely, adorable, simple and unassuming pet, ‘Taffy’, a Labrador.

2 months old taffy
He was a month old when my father bought him while returning from the office. It was quite late and raining. As soon as he parked the car inside and came in, we saw in his hand a cute adorable puppy. Everybody came out of their room and started greeting this new member of your family. Of all people in the house, the most happiest was my little cousin who also lives with us. It was actually his birthday present which he requested a year ago and he had already decided the name long time back.

We noticed that he was very hungry, so we offered him milk and soon then he started running and wagging his tail, introducing himself to everyone in the house. We noticed that the owner of this pet did not paid attention to him. He seemed little sick. We decided to take him up the very next morning to a good veterinarian. I warped him in a small towel and took him to the vet. While I was waiting in the queue, I noticed how people walking off started gazing at taffy, Since he was small, wrapped up in a towel, looking very cute and adorable. It was obvious to happen. The vet examined him, gave few shots, medicines, recommended food and timely checkups. We vaccinated him and followed his advice.

Soon, he was revamped. He started becoming comfortable in his new place day by day but used to miss her mother and that comfortable space from where he came. It was evident from his long, mournful cry as he used to wail at night. He was only a month old when he got separated from her mother. It was tough.

My Mother is not really a pet lover and she was not very happy as they certainly mess up your clean house at times before they are taught and trained. As expected by her, taffy used to make our house dirty sometimes but that was not for long, We made him learned and he followed. And this is the one reason why people tend to turn off the idea of keeping a pet even if they wish too.

Single and ready to mingle :P
He is now 2.5 yrs old and very adorable. Every time we used to come from work, he is all ready to maul us with his attention, love and affection. Whenever we used to go out of station and he used to stay alone with someone, he has to be coaxed up into eating.
Tough time

One fine morning, when my father took him for a morning walk, a boy probably from a village, driving a car furiously in a small lane in a residential area hit taffy badly. My father heared a loud, utter painful scream, saw taffy in pain and rushed towards him but a group of stray dog attacked him before he could reached there. The boy was so terrified that he ran away from the spot. Taffy somehow reached back and headed straight towards my room and hid himself underneath my bed. Nobody knew what happened till my father came rushing in. I woke up and noticed something odd. I bend my head down and saw blood on the floor. He was very scared and was not even allowing someone to come near to him. Everybody came in to my room, I slowly pulled him and noticed that he’s front left leg was fractured and there are scars of bites on the same leg. Seeing this, my little cousin started crying. He was all ready to go to his school when this happened. I too was scared, thinking that the injury was so severe that it might result in to amputate his leg. I had an exam that day and could not skip it. Our poor taffy somehow managed with this unbearable misery for hours till we all returned back and headed him towards the vet. upon reaching the doctor's premises, I took him up in my arms, he was too scared to come out of the car.I pulled him out of the car and lifted up in my arms for x-rays which were to be done in the basement premises. I slowly and steadily stepped down the stairs holding him tightly and I could feel his heartbeats which were started pacing up at that time. He was very scared. After the X-rays, I again took him up out of the basement and to the doctor for the treatment.Just after the treatment, we headed to our car and taffy was lying in semi-conscious state.

Almost drowsy

It took taffy months to recover and finally he did. It was difficult time for us.

Tuck him up with my fingers to avoid him falling off

In memories of Sweety, a female Labrador nearby.

In hope of getting potatoes ;-)

Our Hero !

We realized that he is not just an animal but a lovable part of our family too, as we all share with him bonding at emotional level, which was evident at that time on our faces, in our eyes.
